Towerkop in the distance looms over Ladismith. Local legend has it that an angry witch, flying overhead, struck the peak with her wand, causing the split which today is seen from afar.

This section of road had no vehicle tracks on it - no cars, tractors, bicycles, nothing other than a bokkie or two. In the distance, Rooiberg, the location of another wonderful ride!
